Eugene Kaspersky joined the International Advisory Council

Eugene Kaspersky, Chairman and CEO of Kaspersky Lab, has been appointed as member of the International Advisory Board of the Program for Research and Development of national cyber security in Singapore. The purpose of the program is to promote the ability to research and develop national network security to address the threats are on the increase and the challenges faced in cyberspace.

The research program is a collaboration between the Singapore government agencies, including the Economic Development Board, Ministry of Interior, the Infocomm Development Authority, the Ministry of Defence and the Secretariat of the National Security Coordinator. The government has allocated 130 million Singapore dollars (95 million US dollars) for research and development related to network security issues in the past 5 years.

International Advisory Council will provide insight on emerging trends globally and consultancy in the field of technology promising to meet the strategic needs of potential and ensure network security Future.

Speaking about the appointment, Eugene Kaspersky said: "This is a great honor for me to become a member of the council. My company has extensive experience in combating malware and research on advanced network attacks took place worldwide. I'm looking forward to sharing expertise in this field to support investment-oriented research and development on cyber security in Singapore to help this country ready to face future threats.

Eugene Kaspersky technical school mathematics in the 1980s he began a career in network security by accident when his computer was infected Cascade virus in 1989. Specialization on coding helped him analyze virus encrypted, understand its action and then, development tools eliminate it.

In 1997, Eugene and a group of colleagues founded Kaspersky Lab now has nearly 3300 employees, 37 regional offices worldwide operations.
